Tabarca - Santa Pola Annual Swimming Crossing

Tabarca - Santa Pola Annual Swimming Crossing
3 Jul 2014

On Sunday 6 July 2014 from 7.30am, Santa Pola and Tabarca will be hosting for the 19th year, the only crossing swim of Spain where the route is drawn from an island to the mainland.

Year after year the swim Tabarca Crossing Santa Pola exceeds its turnout figure; this year has approximately 1000 national and international swimmers, crossing 5900 meters from Tabarca to Santa Pola.

Santa Pola is the closest to the Peninsula of Tabarca, which is the only inhabited island of Valencia point. Visit Tabarca and pay tribute to this Mediterranean enclave that has been a source of inspiration for artists. You can enjoy coves and beaches with clear waters and a picturesque fishing port with excellent options, with the possibility of tasting the traditional cauldron, the signature dish of the island.

So, if you an early riser, why not pop along on Sunday to either Santa Pola or Tabarca and cheer on the swimmers.
